Our Programs

Yale Day of Service is the university’s annual celebration of service, with Yalies banding together each year to give back to their local communities. In all, alumni communities host close to 300 service projects each year. We estimate that at least 3,500 service initiatives have taken place in the program’s history, dating back to its inception in 2009. What began more than a decade ago as a single day has now grown into an ongoing call to action for service activities that span the globe, in sectors from environmental clean-ups to educational webinars, legal clinics to house painting. Now more than ever, every day can be a Yale day of service. How will YOU make a difference this year?

Interviewing with local Yale alumni offers the Yale applicant a way of getting to know a personal side of Yale without having to travel across the country. The Yale Alumni Schools Committee connects alumni volunteers with applicants to Yale College for evaluative interviews conducted near an applicant’s home. Local ASC groups are active across the United States and in more than 50 countries. Graduates of Yale College, the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and Yale’s professional school are eligible to join.

The Hudson Valley Yale Club brings together Yale alumni, students, faculty, and friends through engaging cultural, educational, and social programs across the region. Recent events have included attendance at a New York Stage and Film and Bardavon Presents reading of Menafee, the new play by Pulitzer Prize-winning Yale alumna Quiara Alegría Hudes ’99 inspired by the story of Yale employee Corey Menafee. Club members had the opportunity to meet the playwright, Corey Menafee and his family, and In the Heights co-creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, highlighting the club's commitment to connecting members with meaningful conversations at the intersection of the arts, Yale, and contemporary issues.re
