Join the Mid Hudson Valley YC for our first Book Club meeting. We are reading Jonathan Rosen’s The Best Minds: A Story of Friendship, Madness, and the Tragedy of Good Intentions (Penguin Random House, 2024). A Pulitzer Prize finalist and one of Barack Obama’s Favorite Books of 2023, this memoir follows Rosen and his childhood best friend, Michael Laudor, from Westchester to Yale. Laudor graduated summa cum laude in three years and went on to a seemingly successful consultant career. But all was not as it seemed. Rosen got word that Laudor had suffered a psychotic break and ended up in a psychiatric ward. The book was named a Top 10 Best Book of the Year by The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
